hsifeng: (Beat Down)
Oh I *hate* being so fidgety!

Things on my list of ‘to do’ that keep circling in my mind as I sit at my desk with next to nothing to preoccupy me from work and no ability to continue reading manuscripts with any focus:

1) Get banking taken care of
2) Get dogs walked
3) Get home, get truck packed, get out of town!
4) Get bias tape sewn down on border of “Project X” for this weekend (for those coming to Corona, you can feel free to help once I get it set up on Saturday! *grin*)
5) Get floral/foliage garland set up as prize for Tross Olympics
6) Talk to French about use of their space
7) Help coordinate the running of the Tross Olympics
8) Survive flag tearing ceremony without getting teary eyed (never works)
9) Coordinate getting truck on site on Sunday and get canon into truck with no one dying
10) Get canon home in one piece (and the rest of the car of folks as well)
11) Get up early on Monday so I can leave work early for doctors appointment while still going to gym at lunch for first four-days-at-the-gym week in my new workout cycle
12) Start work on Powerpoint/Handouts/Time Off for ‘Historical Food’ workshop I am hosting in SF for Tonda (in July – but I have to get EVERYTHING together for this including test bakes of food samples)

Somewhere in there I would like to celebrate my B-Day (this last Wednesday), have fun with my friends at faire, and talk my hubby into going to Fort Mac. *argh*

I am tired of stringing my 'wishlist of books' all over every vendor site on the internet.

So I consolidated: http://www.librarything.com/catalog/hsifeng

Check the "I Want!" tags for items I'd like to add to my library at home. Let me know what you think if you have read the titles in question, or if you just have something to say.

I think about $6,500 should get me all 35 titles….

I need to up my homeowners insurance….

Things were weird when I went home for lunch: Why aren’t there more folks on the street? Normally the Tower is buzzing at lunch time. *shrug*

Hubby and I are all packed for the trip down South: Just waiting for [profile] bedpimp to show up with the truck. After last weekend, saw an accident just outside of Selma, we’re going to have the med-pack up front with us for every trip.

I just realized, like five of my co-workers didn’t even come back to end their Friday.

Fuck it…I’m going to ask Shelly if I can go home early…

Just a quick post: Apparently the phone is down at work again and not getting outside calls. It has been like this most of the week - when are they going to fix it? With my cell left home to charge for the weekend, I was out of touch.

Hubby turned on the TV a earlier and noticed some strange reports. He’s still watching to see if there is any more information. What is this, some sort of Friday the 13th prank?

Got a call from [profile] bedpimp, of course he is convinced ‘it’ is happening: So now I am packing for a longer trip – just in case.

Gotta go pack.

Has anyone talked to [profile] dragonwoman yet? She may want to come along this weekend after all.

God knows [profile] shadowd1 would kick my ass if it turned out something really *was* happening.

Never thought we’d have any *real* use for the silly survival food kit that we bought at Costco a couple of years ago. *chuckle*

Probably still won’t.

[profile] bedpimp has his laptop and mobile internet card packed…Nice!

Crap…what to do with the dogs and cats?

OMFG…

I can’t process this right....

Apparently [profile] bedpimp was right – thankfully we have the shotguns & ammo here.

I still don't know what to believe, but I am not sticking around here any longer.

Van is backed up to the front porch and loading has started, truck is next. Already offloaded the van's rear seats and set up a 'dog fence' so that the canines will be trapped in the rear of the rig. Cats in one box (it's all I could find) in the middle seat area.

Dammit, hubby's polearms are at Corona for the faire. Some reach would be nice...
I think hubby is manning the ‘ambulance plan’: I feel sorry for the paramedics that show up. At least we will have a rig in play for him to stock the drug/medical supply pantry from.

More room for transport as well.

Four drivers, three rigs: We need some gunners.

Road to the cabin is open, but the water is still off.

Heading up the hill.
