Just One of *Those* Days...

I was talking with a friend yesterday afternoon about how I am looking for a renewal of my faith in humanity: I have that faith, it just seems to have been beaten down a lot in the past few years by my general experience with my culture.

Then yesterday I get home and find that my wonderful husband and our terrific friend S have spent the day cleaning the carpets in our house: We have two dogs and three cats (one of whom is a Persian) - the vacuum broke months ago and we have been living in a snowdrift of pet hair ever since. The guys spent *all day* scrubbing the fur out of the rug, vacuuming and then steam cleaning the rugs (with S's machines that he packed over to our house for the occasion). 

Walking into the house, I felt a level of sanity had returned to my life! *grin*

Then, hubby made us dinner and we all got a chance to sit on the couch and veg together. 

*le sigh*

I know that this is mostly proof that my husband and S ROCK, but by extension it reminded me that we all can (and do) effect each others lives in the most profound way by lending an unexpected hand with a project or issue.
