The photos I posted with the actual ‘pig tails’ being used are interesting. You can see how they could produce a large bundle…but they would also be sort of “lumpy”. Maybe this is why there were multiple layers of veil worn over the top of the bump? Maybe the bump was only there to secure the Wulst roll to?

So many questions, so few answers.
