Agreed! I have even seen some clever chaps make their lean-to into their pack for travel (it's a matter of how you fold it and tie it together - using the normal straps for keeping your lean-to upright of course). They even incorporated their wooden upright poles into the rig to make the pack more firm. Then again, I think a clever person could find the right branches laying about near camp to make those same poles out of rather than hiking them in...
