Your work computer have a USB port? If so, Invest in a small USB flash drive and you can run any program off that. Personally, I'd recommend TextPad. The free version doesn't have all the great features of some pay-for programs but its not memory intensive and runs off even a 256MB Flash drive well (I use it that way to keep such stuff off my work computer) :) Not to mention its a great text editing program.
