Overall like the next 365 days, or overall like the next 50 years? Either way, I suppose it is sort of the same: I am looking to not back-slide on the gains I have managed to make over the last couple of years. I think I may have finally trained myself to think of exercise as a daily practice again. This is a habit I grew up with, but lost along the way. I feel like I’ve gotten a pretty good handle on how I exercise; arranging things so that my training is not only a way to burn energy, but a means toward making my body more injury resistant and efficient.

Now that I have a pretty good work-out routine going (which I continue to tweak/add challenges to as losing interest is a habit killer for me), I am checking back in on my eating for the same reasons. Honestly, my food intake habits are pretty healthy, but they are undirected. I am eating things that I know are “good foods” without any thought as to what kind of foods they are, how they interact with each other, when I am eating them, and how my body processes them.

So, I am starting to read more about nutrition and doing some baby-steps toward trying to get my intake to better serve my output. I am not looking for any sort of fad or quick-fix food information (this isn’t about weight loss or gain), I am simply seeking to ensure that I give my body the best possible building blocks for long-term health and energy.

Did that make a lick of sense (to anyone other than me)? *chuckle*
